Pekanbaru, May 4, 2021 – The Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Labor Inspection and Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Riau Province awarded the 2021 Occupational Health and Safety (K3) award on virtual handover ceremony.
"After going through the central level evaluation with the specified criteria indicators, both in the company policy and administration documents related to K3, BPJS Health and Employment, Total Working Hours of Survivors (JKO), and after administrative selection and other assessments by the selection team Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, the winners of the zero accident award are announced, "said the Head of the Riau Province Manpower and Transmigration Office, H. Jonli, S.Sos, M.Si.
The zero accident award is given by the government to company management that has succeeded in implementing the K3 program so that it has achieved zero accidents, namely the loss of work days due to work accidents from January to December 2020 with evidence of no claims from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. This is third consecutive years which PT TRMS has won the zero-accident award, having previously received the same appreciation in 2019 and 2020 by the Riau Province Manpower Office.
Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is in the interests of employers, workers and governments around the world, including in Indonesia and Riau Province. Referring to 2011 data, globally, the International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that around 337 million work accidents occur each year which result in around 2.3 million workers losing their lives. Meanwhile, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan data shows that around 0.7 percent of Indonesian workers experience work accidents which result in national losses of up to IDR 50 trillion. Meanwhile, based on BPJS Ketenagakerjaan data published by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower in 2019, there were a total of 77,295 cases of accidents in the workplace, of which 14,325 cases occurred in Riau Province.
Head of the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Riau Province, H. Jonli, S.Sos, M.Si said, "The Zero Accident award is aimed at encouraging the active participation of employers and workers in implementing K3 in every work activity; as well as making K3 a basic need in order to increase work productivity. The targets to be achieved include the creation of a safe, comfortable and efficient workplace to boost productivity, and the realization of a K3 culture in the workplace. "

After that, employees can record the potential, record the chronology, and immediately take follow-up improvements. "
